Flattening, also known as smoothing, is a small reduction rate rolling process after cold rolling and annealing. The reduction rate is usually only 0.5-3%, without changing the material thickness specifications. It relies on the rolling mill to lightly press the surface of the steel strip, and its main functions are as follows:
1. Eliminate yield lines (L ü ders strap)
After annealing, austenitic stainless steel is prone to surface roughness and yield stripes during deep drawing, causing the appearance of the parts to be scrapped. Flattening can break the yielding platform, and during subsequent stamping and bending processes, it can avoid the formation of ripple patterns on the surface and improve deep drawing performance.
2. Improve the shape of the board, correct the warping and wavy shape of the steel strip
Correct the edge waves, middle waves, and curvatures of the steel strip, improve the flatness of the entire roll, ensure smooth sheet metal during subsequent flattening, slitting, and sheet metal processing, and reduce the shape defects of subsequent processing.
3. Adjust the surface condition
Fine tune the matte roughness of the 2B surface to unify the surface texture; Provide a uniform substrate surface foundation for subsequent surface processing such as wire drawing and polishing.
4. Fine tune the mechanical properties of materials
By micro work hardening and adjusting the tensile and yield strength moderately, the desired hardness range can be obtained; It can distinguish between deep drawing materials and ordinary structural materials, and adapt to different forming requirements.
5. Improve the surface quality of steel strips
Slightly flattening small pits and orange peel defects on the surface can improve the surface appearance to a certain extent; At the same time, it makes the stress distribution on the surface of the steel strip more uniform.
